ABOUT

Regina Vargas is a fourth-generation painter whose work blends personal memory, cultural heritage, and a love for vibrant color. Born in Mexico City, she grew up surrounded by art, often watching her mother paint, and found herself drawn to the same language of expression from an early age.

Now based in Brooklyn, Regina’s work is deeply rooted in her Mexican identity. She moved to the United States at age seven, and painting has long been her way of staying connected to the warmth, boldness, and everyday beauty of the culture she comes from.

Since 2021, her work has found its way into private collections and into the hearts of those who connect with her use of color, texture, and composition. Her paintings offer a fresh, evocative take on Mexican aesthetics, accentuating how the culture lives and breathes through light, pigment, and everyday moments.

In May 2024, Regina made the leap from a career in marketing and communications to life as a full-time artist - a decision that felt both scary and inevitable. It marked a return to something essential: a choice to honor her creative lineage and the pull she’d always felt toward painting.
